Season's Greetings from Chris the Guide!
This card
shows three paintings by Cola d'Amatrice (1480-1547). This very talented
painter, after centuries of oblivion has been rediscovered and properly studied
in the last fifty years revealing a very complex inventiveness and great technical
skills as painter and architect as well. His name reveals also his city of
birth, Amatrice, one of the cities dramatically damaged by the earthquakes of August
and September 2016.
May his
revival be an auspice of rebirth and a reminder of the tragedy that occurred
